Universal Testing Machine Floor-standing, 1,000 kN
The largest in the line: 1,000 kN (224,810 lbf) and 3,500 kg, with the lowest minimum speed of all, 0.007 mm/min.

The MBIOII-1000-M2 is the largest machine in the line: 1,000 kN (224,810 lbf), the equivalent of one hundred metric tons-force. It weighs 3,500 kg and stands 2,700 mm tall.
Its speed range, from 0.007 to 175 mm/min, is the slowest in the line. The minimum speed of 0.007 mm/min is the lowest of all models, which favors quasi-static tests with a detailed record of the curve.
The 560 mm test space width is narrower than that of the 300 and 600 kN models, a result of the more robust frame needed to withstand the load. It handles acceptance testing of large structural components, anchoring elements and the qualification of high-strength materials.

What the MBIOII-1000-M2 tests in practice
Estimated breaking force of common test specimens, compared with the 1,000 kN (224,809 lbf) capacity of this model. The estimate is the cross-sectional area times the typical strength of the material.

Near limit: above 80% of capacity, with no margin for a material stronger than expected. Below range: less than 2% of the smallest load cell of the model (10 kN (2,248 lbf)). Reference values; the actual material may vary. How to calculate it for your specimen is explained in the universal testing machine guide.

Accessories: load cells
The MBIOII-1000-M2 works with interchangeable load cells from 10 kN to 1 kN. Using the load cell whose capacity is closest to the test force keeps the measurement within the verified range.

BioLab Software
The machine is operated by BioLab, software developed by Biopdi. It controls the machine, acquires force, position and up to 4 extensometer channels, calculates results according to the selected standard or method and generates reports in PDF, HTML and CSV. It runs on a computer with Windows 10 or later, connected via USB or serial, and works without internet.

Frequently asked questions
Common questions about this model. For further information, contact our technical team.
What is the speed range of this model?
From 0.007 to 175 mm/min, compared with up to 500 mm/min on the smaller models. Its maximum speed is the lowest in the line, and so is its minimum, which favors quasi-static tests with a detailed record of the curve.
Which applications require 1,000 kN?
Acceptance testing of large structural components, anchoring and foundation elements, high-strength steels, concrete blocks and columns, as well as research on high-strength materials, cases where failure approaches one hundred metric tons-force.
Why is the test space width narrower than on the 300 and 600 kN models?
Because the frame has to be more robust to withstand 1,000 kN, and this reduces the free space between the columns. The width is 560 mm, compared with 650 mm on the 300 kN model and 605 mm on the 600 kN model. The vertical stroke remains 1,500 mm.
What requirements must the installation site meet?
An industrial floor able to support 3,500 kg on a 1,205 × 1,365 mm footprint, ceiling height compatible with the machine's 2,700 mm height, and a three-phase 220 V supply with 11,200 W available.
Can the machine be used for tests at much lower loads?
Yes. Load cells range from 10 kN to 1,000 kN and are interchangeable. With the appropriate load cell installed, the same machine runs low-load tests with no loss of measurement resolution.
Which load cells can be used on the MBIOII-1000-M2?
The interchangeable load cells for this model range from 10 kN (2,248 lbf) to 1,000 kN (224,809 lbf): 10 kN (2,248 lbf), 50 kN (11,240 lbf), 100 kN (22,481 lbf), 200 kN (44,962 lbf), 300 kN (67,443 lbf), 600 kN (134,885 lbf), 1,000 kN (224,809 lbf). Using the load cell whose capacity is closest to the test force keeps the measurement within the verified range, with class 1 accuracy per ISO 7500-1:2023 (ABNT NBR ISO 7500-1:2023 in Brazil).
What is the test speed range of the MBIOII-1000-M2?
From 0.007 to 175 mm/min. The speed for each test is set by the material standard and programmed in the BioLab software, which also supports constant or variable force tests and stepwise cyclic tests.
