Universal Testing Machine Portable, 200 N to 1 kN
Benchtop model from 200 N to 1 kN (45 to 225 lbf), weighing just 15 kg, the smallest and fastest in the line, for light, small-cross-section specimens.

The MBIOI-1P-M2 is the smallest machine in the line. At 15 kg and 250 × 123 × 560 mm, it fits in a corner of a bench and can be carried between departments or to the test site, which is not practical with the larger models, which weigh over 100 kg. It plugs into a standard 220 V outlet and draws 320 W.
It is also the fastest machine in the line: it reaches 600 mm/min, compared with 500 mm/min on the higher-capacity models. This range covers peel and adhesion tests, which require a high, constant speed, while keeping the 0.02 mm/min minimum for brittle materials.
Its 1 kN (225 lbf) capacity, 425 mm vertical stroke and 48 mm test space width make it suited to light, small-cross-section test specimens. For larger samples or loads above 1 kN, the recommended model is the MBIOI-10-M2.

Near limit: above 80% of capacity, with no margin for a material stronger than expected. Below range: less than 2% of the smallest load cell of the model (0.05 kN (11 lbf)). Reference values; the actual material may vary. How to calculate it for your specimen is explained in the universal testing machine guide.

Accessories: load cells
The MBIOI-1P-M2 works with interchangeable load cells from 5 kN to 1 kN. Using the load cell whose capacity is closest to the test force keeps the measurement within the verified range.

BioLab Software
The machine is operated by BioLab, software developed by Biopdi. It controls the machine, acquires force, position and up to 4 extensometer channels, calculates results according to the selected standard or method and generates reports in PDF, HTML and CSV. It runs on a computer with Windows 10 or later, connected via USB or serial, and works without internet.

Frequently asked questions
Common questions about this model. For further information, contact our technical team.
Is this model suitable for testing plastic films, paper and fabrics?
Yes, that is the main application of the MBIOI-1P-M2. The 1 kN capacity comfortably covers the breaking force of these materials, and the speed of up to 600 mm/min, the highest in the Biopdi line, meets the needs of peel and adhesion tests, which require a high, constant speed.
What is the difference between the 1 kN portable model and the 10 kN model?
The MBIOI-10-M2 has ten times the capacity, and the test space width increases from 48 mm to 150 mm, accepting test specimens with a much larger cross-section. On the other hand, the portable model weighs 15 kg versus 105 kg and is the only one in the line that a single person can carry.
What do I need in the lab to install the machine?
A standard 220 V, 60 Hz outlet and about 25 × 13 cm of free bench space, with 56 cm of usable height above it. No three-phase power, foundation or anchoring is required, since the machine weighs 15 kg.
Do I need a computer to operate the machine?
Yes. The machine is operated with the BioLab software, which runs on a desktop or laptop computer with Windows 10 or later, connected via USB or serial. It sets up the test, acquires the data, calculates the results and generates reports in PDF, HTML and CSV, and it works without an internet connection.
What comes with the machine and what is the warranty?
It comes with the testing software, an instruction manual and a load cell with class 1 accuracy according to ABNT NBR ISO 7500-1:2023 (the Brazilian adoption of ISO 7500-1). The warranty is 1 year against manufacturing defects, with technical support throughout Brazil. Biopdi is ISO 9001 certified.
In which capacities is the MBIOI-1P-M2 offered?
Available in 200 N, 500 N or 1 kN (45 lbf, 112 lbf, 225 lbf). The frame is the same across all 3 capacities, with the same stroke, test space width and dimensions; the choice starts from the highest force the lab needs to measure.
Which load cells can be used on the MBIOI-1P-M2?
The interchangeable load cells for this model range from 0.05 kN (11 lbf) to 1 kN (225 lbf): 0.05 kN (11 lbf), 0.1 kN (22 lbf), 0.5 kN (112 lbf), 1 kN (225 lbf). Using the load cell whose capacity is closest to the test force keeps the measurement within the verified range, with class 1 accuracy per ISO 7500-1:2023 (ABNT NBR ISO 7500-1:2023 in Brazil).
What is the test speed range of the MBIOI-1P-M2?
From 0.02 to 600 mm/min. The speed for each test is set by the material standard and programmed in the BioLab software, which also supports constant or variable force tests and stepwise cyclic tests.
